Prince Charles' Dimbleby lecture

Now I detest the royal family, but I do like Charlie because he believes what he says, even if I don't always agree

Any thoughts?

I don't suppose anyone even watched it

Re: Prince Charles' Dimbleby lecture

Blimey, I don't know if I'd go that far

It was a bit long winded, about the Eco system etc.

But as I said, I like his conviction

I'm not going down that road mate.

Be careful, you'll get pounced on by the mods

Seriously and it's honest advice, they're very strict mate.

Re: Prince Charles' Dimbleby lecture

I caught about 10 minutes of it halfway through. He seemed to be doing an awful lot of talking without actually saying anything.

Re: Prince Charles' Dimbleby lecture

Avoided it after the nobhead's recent interference in the democratic process regarding Chelsea Barracks; and my view that, conviction or not, he mostly spouts utter crap, taking a very long and painful time to spout it
- the BBC shouldn't really have give this feudal tax-dodging tosspot a platform

I'm sure the OP doesn't really like anyone who "believes what he says" or has "his conviction"
- could include all sorts of serial killers, sociopaths, dictators, politicians, anyone living in an ivory tower, etc

EDIT ...
It appears that even the Dimbleby brothers were at odds over this year's lecture
- Jonathan extended the invitation to his good chum Charles (he wrote/presented a fawning authorised biography/TV documentary of him 15 years ago) but David objected on the basis of his political meddling, so boycotted the event

Re: Prince Charles' Dimbleby lecture

I thought he was pretty good. What he said needed saying and he clearly new what he wanted to say. Basically the Earth is a finite resource (capital). It can produce a certain amount of income from this capital each year (food and other natural resources). Mankind is consuming all its income and eating away at the capital as well. It cant go on for ever. etc etc.

Re: Prince Charles' Dimbleby lecture

I wonder if he's advised brother Andy to cut down on his regular taxpayer-funded flights to the golf course
