The new BBC1 version of RH was dire, simply because it was a story that didn't need "modernising" to be credible or enjoyable. It was exactly about what kids of today could enjoy: namely gangs, beating other adults at their own game, coming-out on top, and beating the bad guys/gals! The really naff episode names, didn't help either.
They were blinking horrific!
It's wasted on BBC2 on the random Saturday afternoon slots, they have given it. Ditto with "Psyche" too. That could play on Saturday teatimes on BBC1 without cuts, I would have thought. I'd love to see a complete and uncut repeat of "Due South" on Saturday evenings, although one or two of the episodes would probably still need to be edited for language, or slightly edgy and risque humour/violence.
