Basically when we had Sky plus most of the viewing was 16:9 but occasionally on SKy Sports 405 and some MUSIC channels were shown in 4:3 format - we altered the SKY settings so that it automatically changed depending on the channel.

We habve just upgraded to a HD box and can't seem to replicate the old set up.


This is annoying as there are quite a few channels still showing in 4:3 and we have to manually change the ratio. It drives my wife mad as she is a technophobe.

HDMI switching is more of an art than a science when it comes to the SKY box however on mine if you set the SKY+HD to AUTO resolution and the TV to 4:3 then it switches between 4:3, 16:9 anamorphic and HD widescreen as required.

Amazing !!!!!!!!!!

Pity about the slight delay as the screen rate changes each time - but certainly better than the manual option !!
