Re: Musicians urge copyright change

Hopefully they won't be able to twist Gordon's arm before the end of the year. Why? Well I'm a big Buddy Holly fan. For several decades releases of his work have been hampered by many arguments and disputes between record companies and Holley family members.

Due to the '50 year rule' all of Buddy's early (pre-56) recordings were released in January '06, his '56 recordings were released in January '07, and his '57 recordings were finally released in January '08.

Now Buddy died in February '59, and only recorded a handful of tracks in that year, so a 'Complete '58' CD release should appear in January '09.

Unless these musicians succeed, of course.

Good luck to ‘em, I say. I just hope they don’t get this through before the New Year.
