Re: Hoon defends giant database plans

My Jaw dropped when I heard this comment on last nights Question Time. How far is this goverment willing to go? - Is the future of the British public destined to be spent within fenced off, military controlled compounds, all 'for our own safety'? - It's a scary thought. When the price of freedom is liberty I fear the cost is too high...

In the words of Benjamin Franklin: Any society that gives up a little liberty to gain a little security deserves neither and looses both.

Re: Hoon defends giant database plans

It's Only Jeff Hoon..

I wouldn't worry however, "Hi-tech" plus "Government project" usually equals... very late, very over budget and "doesn't work"

Personally, until the government shows they can handle the data they already have without leaving it on a london tube or something similar, I think it would be ridiculous to even atempt to gather such a vast amount of data, which no doubt those that need to will figure a way around anyway.
