To be honest' No this hasn't impacted me at all, reasons being that I work within my means so hardware usually takes time for me to purchase anyway.

My short List of items that I am currently paying for are as follows:
1) Denon 3930 DVD Player (has taken a year, will be paid for by 31st Oct.)
2) Pioneer PDP609 G9 (this should be paid for by May 2009.)
3) Pioneer HLD X0 Laserdisc Player (fully serviced by Pioneer in Japan before
Shipping.)

All of the above items are with sellers until paid for (it's difficult waiting for them.)

I can geuinely feel for those who, for one reason or another, weather mortgage, family and for many other reasons are feeling the pinch, and also the uncertanty with life especially at present.

Because it has been tough for me personally, in waiting for things in life I can truly understand others frustrations.

Great thread by the way! and am sure that others will share their thoughts on this subject.

Mortgage paid off, no debts (unless it's interest free credit, then I don't buy until I have the money). We've got the highly probable financial headache of both kids going to uni in a few years' time but we save regularly and the loans system can be (legally!) used advantageously.

I upgraded to Blu Ray and HD DVD and a full HD system last year. I doubt I'll buy anything new until at least a couple of further development cycles, because the marginal improvements don't justify the outlay. I'll continue to buy Blu Ray new releases where I really want them, but to be honest, I've already got a biggish number of SD discs (700+) and have no urge to upgrade this collection to Blu Ray except in the case of a few really treasured titles (e.g. Godfather, 2001).

Like Mark, I too feel sorry for anyone caught out by this credit squeeze, especially when it's not their fault (i.e. they're not senior bankers ).

I'm staying away from BD until its more affordable.A year ago i would have just spent whatever, but now i'm looking at cheaper DVD's.

We do not have any children, have a small mortgage and some savings but we know things can change very quickly so we are just be cautious like the rest of the country.

in the meantime, i'll enjoy my 350 SD DVD collection and 90 disc HD DVD collection until i have a bit more confidence.

If the government is prepared to bail out the banks and money lenders could they please pay off all my debt including my mortgage?
