Post Sky abandons Freeview pay-per-view plan, blames tardy Ofcom

Sky has abandoned plans to introduce a subscription service on the Freeview terrestrial TV platform. The project was first mooted in February 2007 and amusingly dubbed Picnic.

The proposal was that Sky's channels on Freeview (Sky News, Sky Three and Sky Sports News) would be replaced with higher-value encrypted channels (Sky One, Sky Sports 1, Sky Movies and a shared Discovery/children's channel). read more& nbsp;»

Good, they alread have their own platform, Freeview is about being free and not hogging the space up with sub. channels.

A waste of bandwidth, built on a dodgy unreliable platform?

Top up tv is a waste with only shared part time channels.
