Re: No HD future for remastered Star Trek

If this is indicative of Paramounts attitude to all their releases on BD that is not good news at all. As we have yet to get any news on theirs and Universal's release plans, are they going to ignore BD completely like a sulking child?

Perhaps they just want to see if BD has any sort of future against SD. Once bitten....

Re: No HD future for remastered Star Trek

Star Trek restoration was paid for Toshiba so It'll probably feel like a stab in the back if they did that but I expect it will come out one day in Blu

Re: No HD future for remastered Star Trek

They'll release if it's profitable. The HD DVD at £110 was absurd. Wouldn't even think of paying half of that for it. They may well be thinking they've sold quite a few on HD DVD so there may not be many more sales on BD for now. Either wait for bargin bin prices on the HD DVD or wait for BD at some (distant) point in the future.

All the best
Bri

Re: No HD future for remastered Star Trek

Whats the point to make an HD remaster to then release it only on DVD?

Stupid. Eventually they will release this on Blu Ray.

Right now they are just being a bit stupid and sulking just because HD DVD didnt win.
