As expected, Sony is discontinuing the 60GB and 20GB versions of its PlayStation 3 in Japan, in favour of the* streamlined and more profitable 40GB iteration. I assume Sony aren't going back on their "screw Europe by not giving them PS2 Hardware support" while doing all this?

Does the PS3 have regional discs or could I buy a US PS3 and play games brought here with it? The whole NTSC/PAL thing doesn't make sense anymore with HDTV standards in place which take the old standards out of the equasion.

dont hold ur breath on ps2 support and no chance for playing region coded disks that will stay the same
