Post Custom Install group endorses Blu-ray as HD format of choice

A US trade association known as the Home Theater Specialists of America says that it is formally endorsing Blu-ray as its HD disc technology of choice. "it speaks volumes when support comes from those who specialize in home theater, and are closest to the consumer.”

It speaks volumes when those who make money from installs, choose the far more expensive and therefore more profitable option!

Any installer worth their salt should be endorsing both formats; I do not understand how any movie buff can buy in to BD only and therefore ignore films like the Matrix and Transformers or HD-DVD only and therefore ignore films like POTC or Spiderman.

Absolutely. These guys are spending big bucks on custom installs yet they can't/won't install a relatively cheap XA2 which will produce a picture every bit as good as Blu-Ray players twice the price? It doesn't compute.

Re: Custom Install group endorses Blu-ray as HD format of choice

As a member of the 'real' custom install group, CEDIA, I can say that Cedia does not issue any guidance of this nature to it's members. They would even less dream of dictating what fornat it's members may install, or recommend. HTSA are not really relevant to the format war in any case, not big enough for much of an impact.
