BBC HD confirmed a service today (beyond the trial) to come in the future also. I might now actually get sky HD in . Come the rest of terrestrial, get the finger out and start HD simulcasts.

This is all good news in my opinion. The more broadcasters the better = more production companies delivering in HD?
Bring it on

I would use a smilie if I could work out how?

At least it's only a one off cost instead of a monthly subscription

I don`t think it will be, bbc has to be free as it is paid for with the licence fee, however i suspect sky will take full advantage and only include it with the hd subscription.

I've currently got an HD subscription which I'm generally pleased with. I was thinking that further down the line and with other free to air channels being broadcast in HD I might well cancel with Sky and use my equipment to pick these channels up in HD. Expect this will be a couple of years off but I hope you're wrong and I can still pick them up without a Sky sub. It would be very difficult now to go back to watching SD TV, in fact we don't generally watch anything unless it's in HD which isn't a bad thing as we don't seem to have soaps on in the house anymore!

Cheers.
