For once a genuine superb launch with exceptional sales figures.Perhaps Microsoft and Nintendo could learn from this.No profiteering, consoles available off the shelf, surely this is what we all want?regardless which console it is.

...but you have to consider how they did it. We had to wait 6months longer than the US and Japan so people who really really really wanted one got one from there, then factor in the fact that the delay enabled Sony to actually make (more than) enough consoles (iirc there were only 100,000 Wii's and 50,000 xbxo360's). So yes a successful launch for Sony, but at what cost to the consumer

Except by sony? Strip out bits and charge more to everyone but the japanese and americans, also they promised a combined euro/american launch, amoung many other things, better just hope the batteries in the controllers don't explode .
Still no real good games either, although if you were gonna buy a blue ray palyer then you could get yourself a deal. But how many people were gonna buy them as early adopters? not many, most would wait till the magic £100, like happened with DVD.
