It was always an OAP of a system before it started out. Choosing the MPEG2 without any possibility of ugrading in future, was to say the least shortsighted. They chose back in 1997 to stage a roll out over numerous years and with a final analogue switch of date of 2012!!!! come on guys how fast does consumer electronics move....
