Like CDs and DVDs , there will always be copy circumvention: Given the investment of the "owners" it is no doubt theft by another name.
I like great sounding CDs, Great PQ/Audio from DVDs and would expect the same for HD material. Buying into great kit means I would hardly be looking to play poor quality pirated stuff: Kind of defeats the purpose. Even now I still get accosted by People hawking Pirated DVDs in Car parks etc
However, CDs skip, and I dont want to buy one for the car as well as one for the Home System. Similarly I want to keep kids grubby fingers from rendering DVDs unwatchable. The industry simply doesn't want them to be backed up for fear of widespread piracy
Like many who actually buy these products , I have less sympathy for the manufacturers who ( Like Bill Gates , Sony and co ) Seem to treat legit purchasers as potential pirates at all points ( Try getting a new activation code for windows

)
Also trying to milk us dry in the name of new technology with silly prices instead of aiming to recoup by nos is a failing strategy they needs to know
