Panasonic announces first Blu-ray HDD recorders

Panasonic will introduce the first Blu-ray-movie compatible recorders with an integrated hard drive into the Japanese market on November 15. "Neither model is expected to ship into the European market, where there is no HD content of note to record."...

And if it was people would have to re-mortgage their houses to pay rediculious amout of TAX slapped on it!

This is disappointing. I can accept that there is minimal high def content to record but a high capacity disc recorder would be nice. At present I use the excellent Panasonic EH60D Freeview/HDD recorder to record from TV (in XP mode). But to put programmes on a disc and transfer them to my PC upstairs I need to cut them up into hour long segments. Copying to a BD25 would save me lots of time.
