Hitachi step up to the mark again and show cheap does not always mean poor. Lets hope the hype lives up to expectations.

No problem with the ALiS, I just hope they didn't put cheapy electronics in it a la 6600.
If they've kept the quality up, it should be a winner

Sorry, is it just me, or is the "full" 1080 spec 1920x1080? This plasma has only 1024 pixels width, thus chopping out (sorry, scaling) very nearly half the horizontal detail. What's the point in that? Don't the 1080 LCDs, while more expensive, at least have the correct spec?

Rectangular pixels.
It's 1024 x 1080.
Yes the LCD does have the correct numbers, but I doubt the pq is on a par yet.
