i dont get it,whats the point in having HDMI on sound.I can see the point on having it for picture and video quality,but what benefits do you get if you get a av reciever with HDMI, what would YOU use them for.Are they worth the extra money.

They are called AV amps for audo and video.

They can switch audio and video inputs.

Have a look at the back of one of these amps and you'll see loads of video and audio inputs. Also a video/audio output.

On the Onkyo, all video inputs can be output through hdmi.

This would give you more inputs to your tv.
