Post Arcam launches high-end HDMI receiver and DVD player

Arcam has officially confirmed the launch of its DiVA AVR350 home cinema receiver (pictured above) and upscaling DiVA137 HDMI DVD player. The £1500 AVR350 is a 7.1 audiophile design with 2-way HDMI switching, 7 X 100w amplification (120w in stereo) and a second zone AV output.

Why on earth didnt they put the scaling in the AV amp it could have been a true one box solution for all digital display owners (LCD, Plasma, DLP, RPTV etc) giving them full system control from one point? when will they realise that upscaling DVD is fine but most people spend most time viewing broadcast feeds!

Why would you upscale your broadcast feed, when HD is now available?
