I have this model on order here in Australia and i should be getting it in 3 weeks. It will certainly change a few things with the pricing of Plasma TV's in the future as it has been marked with the RRP of $3000 AUD which works out to be around 1300 Pounds. And, with the HD capability and HDMI inputs, it will challenge many plasmas with bigger price tags.

If anyone has any more info please let me know too.

lets just hope its not a similar case to the Panny Viera which has 4000:1 but according to HCC's labs its actually only 192:1 or similar...

How can Panny claim 4000:1 and not produce it? Is there a way of checking the LG ratio to see if it is a true ratio?

If they quote figures in the same way they do for projectors, then the contrast ratio is an uncalibrated figure - brightness down low, contrast right up and the RGBs may be unbalanced as well so the image will be too blue/green (as in the case of projectors with UHP lamps).

Calibrating to video levels reduces contrast, but to only get 192:1 after quoting 4000:1 is a huge difference.
