This is really getting whack. It could be the start of something bigger so best be careful. We have the right to modify what ever we own and as soon as manufacturers start telling us we cant we start down a slippery slope. Where does it end? and in the future they ask where did it begin, the answer microsoft?
First they came for the xbox, and I did not speak out—because I was not a modifier;
Then they came for the blueray, and I did not speak out—because I did not play back up copys;
Then they came for the cars, and I did not speak out—because I was not a car driver;
Then they came for the computers, and I did not speak out—because I did not surf for knowledge;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Well you get the point I hope. We should have the right to modify and tinker with what ever we buy. Sure piracy is wrong but its the bigger picture that could be threatening. First microsoft get away with damaging peoples consoles. Next car drivers are told not to modify their cars from spec because of global what not, then computers are set to only access certain sites only allowed by the government, then they come for something you like doing.
So what im saying in a sort of whacky way is its not what they do but the far reaching implications of their actions. Plus who knows what progress in human development could be hindered by not allowing people to experiment with their own stuff?
Well thats one possible way of looking at things. There are others which are far happier and rosey
