Pioneer S-W160S-K or Jamo SUB 250 advice?

Please recommend if you have any experience with the noted models, or can describe any difference in sound. Thanks.

Re: Pioneer S-W160S-K or Jamo SUB 250 advice?

No one wants to talk about Jamo it seems - my Jamo subs query has got no response either. There is a small amount about Jamo 250 and someone (can't remember who) really rates it (if you search 'Jamo sub' in this forum you will find it).

Re: Pioneer S-W160S-K or Jamo SUB 250 advice?

It's not that no one want's to talk about Jamo, it's just that they only seem to have achieved penetration into the British market with certain products. Unfortunately, their subs are not amongst them.

FWIW, in a 'What subs would you like to see tested?' thread on another forum, I suggested their SUB250 and SUB300 (particularly) as the bloke running the test is A) A Scandinavian and therefore likely to have heard of them and B) If the quoted specs are anything like realistic, they could be a pair or really good value subs that are extremely competitively priced.

I too would like an answer to this question.

Re: Pioneer S-W160S-K or Jamo SUB 250 advice?

There are no reviews specific to this subwoofers, I found only one refering to complete set including this sub, but with no specific reference to the sub sound. Pioneer seems interesting as it is very heavy for its price range and is very nice shaped. There are some other discounted offers localy available for Jamo, like E7 SUB, but despite to the specification and nominal price, its got rather poor result in a german review "Befriediegend". On the other side Jamo SUB 1810 is much cheaper, but it got very good review in german test "sehr gut" so which could be better? Seems that cheaper model is sometimes better then higher end, or is it just rated relative to the price. There are traditionally no many good opinions about Japaneese speakers, but does it also refere to subs like Pioneer, or could it even offer a better performance at the lower price as to the lower costs of production in Asia then Europe.
Also, I have considered Energy S8.3 in the similar price range. Please advice.
Thanks.
