Question Subwoofer Echo - Pioneer S-W90S & Samsung L37R87BDX

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum and when it comes to home cinema stuff I'm rubbish but I was wondering if any of you can help me out.

I recently purchased a Pioneer S-W90S and I want to connect it to my Samsung L32R87BDX however this TV (being cheap) doesn't have any centre speaker or subwoofer input so my only options are the L or R input (see I told you I was clueless) and when connected like this I get an echo.

However, I've tried my Jamo subwoofer from my downstairs Bravia and the echo is still present (the Jamo is also connected to either the L or R downstairs without any issues). Thus ruling out the S-W90S.

So, any way forward with my cheapo Samsung L32? Any box connected between the L32 that can help me out?

help

Caleb

Welcome to the forums.

You need an AV amp that can split the sound channels into seperate ones.
Pretty much the cheapest is this;

You can buy the receiver on it's own for around £70 less, but it seems a bit daft to not have the surround.

I'd take the sub back and get a refund on the grounds it won't do what you want/bought it for, as it's pointless on it's own.
Then again, it may well be better than the one in that kit, I don't know.

Amp on it's own;

I guess you could buy that and add some cheap speakers from Richer Sounds.

Re: Subwoofer Echo - Pioneer S-W90S & Samsung L37R87BDX

Hi Badger,

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like some great options but I'd like to stay as cheap as possible as the bedroom isn't really where we do our premium TV watching so I feel it might be wasted.

Any other ideas on a budget? The alternative is that I sell the Pioneer sub and buy a package similar to the one you've suggested but it just seems overkill as all I'm after is a bit of bass...

Cheers again
