Alternative to Canton AS 85 SC

Hi guys!

Previously I was planning on getting the Canton AS 85 SC subwoofer as a replacement to my current one (a passive Pioneer from the DCS-370 HTIB), and later add the Canton CD 100's or 200's as well, but unfortunately, non of the retailers have it currently in stock and don't know when they could get it.

Therefore, could anyone recommend any good alternative to the AS 85, which would later on fit nicely together with the Canton CD 100's or 200's and Onkyo 605 receiver?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Re: Alternative to Canton AS 85 SC

I had the AS85SC on my shortlist, however I opted for a BK XLS200DF instead mainly for 2 reasons.....

1. Excellent forum feedback & reviews.
2. The dimensions fitted better than the AS85SC where I wanted the sub to go.

I am more than happy with the BK, I even got to choose the colour and finish I wanted (Black ash)...

BTW - I'm running the BK with CD100's / CD50 at he front and CD10's as sats.. They work together perfectly and the BK has no problems keeping up with the fast aluminum drivers of the cantons...

Re: Alternative to Canton AS 85 SC

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to find it anywhere in the shops where I live (Latvia).

Seems that the options here would be between Jamo, Q-accoustics, JBL, Infinity, Pioneer, Yamaha, Monitor and, of course, Canton (the Chrono AS 525 maybe? though they seem to be identical, except for the price). No fancy KEF's unfortunately....

Re: Alternative to Canton AS 85 SC

BK ship to thew following destinations at these costs, this is taken from their web site:

Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland £17.50
Austria, Denmark £23.75
Italy, Spain, Chech Republic, Slovakia £27.00
Portugal £31.00
Switzerland £49.00
Norway £56.00

Not sure if Latvia would fall into any of these, but you could always drop them an email...
