Volume Control

I was wondering (This being my first surround sound and Myself being so young)
The projector I have the Surround sound connected up to has no form of volume control. This is ok when I use it with say A freeview box or dvd player in which I am Able to Alter the sound, However when connecting it up to, Lets say A Nintendo Wii The volume is Full and could do with turning down, however the Subwoofer doesnt have the controls on.

Was wondering if it was either to do with something the way the setup I have is wired Feeviewbox<DVD player (which the Surround sound is connected to)< Console/Other. Or if there Is a Addon a would buy which would allow me to use a volume control?

Re: Volume Control

Hello SGR, and welcome to the forums

I am sorry, I cannot quite understand your setup. Are you saying that you connect your gear's sound to your projector?

I think it would help if you list the items in your setup.

Regards,

Alberto

Re: Volume Control

Your sub should be connected via your surround sound kit, this should then take care of the sub volume leveling via its volume control and should adjust when you adjust your normal speaker volume.

You could do with listing your kit and how you have it wired up, just to clarify.

Cheers guys, Currently The Surround sound sub connect directly to the dvd player
and the projectors audio in is connected to the dvd player

(you would need to turn the dvd player off to use the surround surround with anything else) so whislt connecting a wii, seeing as the dvd player is off (as it has to be) i loose all control over the sound

if the dvd play is on, sound can only be heard faintly

Then this is your problem, the output on the dvd player is a fixed volume output, your sub should have its own volume control on it though some dont, but even if it did connecting it up this way would mean having to go over and adjust it everytime you altered the volume level, Sub volume controls are for system balancing only.

You sub needs connecting to your surround kit, assuming this is possible of course. If you find your having trouble with it, come back here and post all your exact kit and we can tell you if its possible to connect up and if so, how to do it.
