Rew
Hi all,
I am getting ready to install my sub in a few weeks and wondering what I will need.
I have looked at the FAQ's and already downloaded REW and I have a SPL meter coming with the Sub.
The question is what else will I need? I am using a Macbook which will probably throw a spanner in the works no doubt

Re: Rew
Hello ttdriver,
I went through that last and this week. You will need some cables (2x RCA to mini-jack and probably RCA-RCA, for your SPL meter, Macbook-receiver and subwoofer, respectively); and lots of patience Yes, it is a hard task that will take a lot of time, unless you are lucky and your room shows a nice response.
Make also sure that your Macbook has a line-in input, the mic-in does not help.
I am now making a write-up of all the settings, tools and procedure I followed to set-up my sub with REW, I hope I will have it finished by the end of the week, and that it can also help others.
Good luck, and enjoy it (Germans say, the best for of joy is anticipation = die beste Freude ist Vorfreude)

Re: Rew
No hay de qué!
That looks good, you should have no problem ( AFAIK, REW supports Mac too).
You just need to get the cables I mentioned before, and make sure they are long enough to connect the various bits together. If you want to check the sub's response at different positions (recommended) and different listening positions (also worth testing), the length of the cables is very important.
Regarding my extensive write-up about settings, tools, etc, it will be posted in few days, I have just sent it to a couple of wise members to proof-read it

Re: Rew
If you manage to get REW to work on a Mac, please let me know. My Macbook Pro seems to crash REW regularly and if you try altering the scales on the graph it just blurs the numbers into a continuous blur

Re: Rew

I read an old thread in the forum where you can get REW, and it only said it had some glitches, not that it did not work at all... Sorry for the mis-information and thanks for the correction, Russ. I should have informed myself better before
