SVS 20-39 PC-Plus Cylinder V's Monolinth
The SVS 20-39 PC-Plus Cylinder Subwoofer looks like an interesting investment, but having never heard one are there any forum members who have experienced it and compaired it to other subs in the monolith bracket?.I was going to go for a BF Monolinth but the size puts me off where as the cylinder is more practical.
Any advice would be appreciated

Re: SVS 20-39 PC-Plus Cylinder V's Monolinth
The 20-39 PC+ has the same performance as the PB12+ which is superior to the Monolith.
Some owners have stated that the cylinder is easier to integrate and has less placement problems than the box equivelent.

Plug and Play.
Place SVS cylinder somewhere on Main speaker wall.
Plug it in.
Adjust the sub's gain by playing some pop music.
Enjoy.

Space is a bit tight at the front, the room is 8 to 9 ft wide with an oak cabinet in the middle and the mains either side of the cabinet, is it to go at the back or side?
cheers

Re: SVS 20-39 PC-Plus Cylinder V's Monolinth
You seem to have an oak cabinet right where a subwoofer should be!
The cylinder has a smaller footprint than competing boxes at this performance level. It fits into corners rather well.
Only you can decide where (or even whether) it will fit in your room.

That's an interesting question.
I have the PC-ultra atm, having used the PB10 previously (which is as close in spec/results as you can get to the Monolith).
The ultra is undoubtedly the better sub out of the two, it's tighter and faster.
But I'm having problems getting it right.
So the truth is, I actually prefer the PB10, even with it's slight flabbiness.
I will sort it though
If you're the sort who plonks it down and adjusts the gain, job done, I'd go with the cylinder.
If you use EQ and like to get it dead right, it'll just depend on the room, IMO.

*Ahem* You could always move the Ultra on if you're not overly enthralled with it Badger.

We'll see mate, although Kinza did say that if I wasn't happy and wanted to sell it, he should have first shout, which begs the question why did he sell it?
Apart from it breaking the plaster in his house, that is
He's a lucky sod, who can just crank it as loud as he likes, as he has no neighbours
But I'm going to give it every chance, I just haven't had time to get as down and deep with the BFD and REW as I'd like.
Blimey, the only other time I talk like that is about women
It is an excellent sub, without a doubt, though
