I'm happy again.. got my cylinder back!

Thanks to OnTheFly for selling me his 20-39PC+

Its just heaven to have the old cylinder back again. It is just effortless. The SB12 is a mighty fine sub, but the cylinder is just awesome low down. And whilst the PB12+ is equally as effortless as the cylinder, those rear firing ports are definitely a problem in left firing corners. Not so with the cylinder. I cannot tell you all how happy I am to have it back

Re: I'm happy again.. got my cylinder back!

Chris

Cylinder power rules as i too could not have a box sub due to size and port location. Glad that you finally found one as hobby horse and poo normally spring to mind.

Are you not tempted by the new PC-Ultra tube. I've already pre-ordered and if i can find the dosh to finance the Ultra without selling my other tube i'll consider running both.

If only they were magnetically shielded i could have hidden one behind the TV

Re: I'm happy again.. got my cylinder back!

I see a cylinder revival coming on.

Mine is right behind the TV - I have no problems with magnetic interference.
Steve: I've always been more than happy with the plus' performance - never felt like I've wanted the Ultra.

Re: I'm happy again.. got my cylinder back!

Cylinders bring a smile to their owner.
It's the slow-release laughing gas cylinder hidden inside.
Oh, and the performance.
I wonder whether IanJ will return to the fold?
I there an Ultra in his stars?

Probably

The compact SB12 is more than sufficient for my bass needs but as my wife will tell you I'm not known for being logical when it comes to toys.

Why the frown Ian?

A nice cuddly PCU would put a smile on that smiley!

Because I don't really need a cylinder and therefore buying one would would be a waste of money. I bought a Harmony remote in February whilst at the Bristol show which cost me £125 and has never been used as I can't be bothered to program it.

Re: I'm happy again.. got my cylinder back!

does anyone know why the 20-39 cylinder wasnt used for the PCUltra13 ?? as having a slightly bigger enclosure would surely mean more depth ?? or do you consider 10hz low enough ??

im just curious as to why the larger cylinder wasnt used .. i imagine they must have tested it in the 20-39 .. but, i would like to know the reason they went with the 16-46

personally im in favour of the smaller footprint

edit: there's me thinking 20-39 were its dimensions, i should read the specs next time

Hi Chris
When i got the pc-ultra after swapping with kinza for my pb-ultra-2 i felt so relieved at getting back the sound id been used to with my old 20-39, the tubes are definitley easier to intergrate than the box subs and mine is behind my tv in a corner and still sounds great with no boominess.
Iam tempted with the new pc-ultra but i get plenty of deep bass already and ive made that mistake before thinking more will sound better with the big ultra -2 so im gonna sit on the fence for a bit .
