sub dialogue

Hi everyone,

hoping for some help with this one, I've got two BK subs in different systems and when the crossovers are set anywhere past the 12 o'clock position you can hear centre channel information coming through! If the crossover control is anywhere near maximum you can hear voices quite clearly across the room, has anyone else noticed this - I can't believe I'm the only person had this happen.

I'd be interested on any thoughts or ideas about this , a solution would be even better!

Cheers all,

Stu.

Re: sub dialogue

Mark Grant sub cables - that's the only thing in common though the problem is there with other cables. Good eh?

Re: sub dialogue

This suggests that your AVR has a slow roll-off on the sub channel.

By crossover frequency I hope you are referring to your AVR? Otherwise I'm asking myself why you are using two crossovers.

You should bypass your sub's own crossovers and just use your AVR to set the crossover frequency.

I'm assuming you are using a surround AVR and low level connections because you mentioned center channel dialogue.

If you are talking about high level connections or a stereo system then completely other factors apply.

sorry - maybe i wasn't clear!

by how i meant:

is the sub connected via low-level, or is it using speaker hi-level?

if it's connected to low-level, are you sure it's connected to the ".1" or "SUB" or "S/W" or "LFE" out? or are you using a pre-out channel - cos' that would explain why you get voice!!! well kinda!
