Gemini/Minotaur - can they be modded to FF?

Looking at either of these two subs because they're tiny enough for a bedroom setup but both of them are slightly too high for the area they need to fit into. In contacted BK and they said that the feet are the height to keep the drivers the correct distance from the floor.

So if removing the feet isn't an option, I was wondering if turning it on its side and attaching some adhesive rubber feet to the new underside might be a possible solution. Anyone got any comments on why this may/may not work?

Just lay the sub on a bit of foam or a carpet offcut.

I'd ring BK and ask them to make one with no feet at all. You can buy perfectly adequate small sticky feet from all good hardware stores and a few crap ones.

I imagine that would be one of BKs easier requests. Don't expect them to make a one off grill though.

Re: Gemini/Minotaur - can they be modded to FF?

I've already contacted them and they said the feet are there for clearance reasons. They did, however, say that placing it on its side to become forward firing would be fine, so I think I'll go with that.
Cheers!

Hi
I think Russ meant to ask BK not to fit any feet as the sub will be on it's side, they won't be needed for clearance. The feet will stick-out and the sub will look far better without in the postion you intend to use it. The other option is to buy a normal Gemini/Minotaur get some MDF, cut it to the same size as the bottom of the sub, make a cutout the same size as the driver and cover it with speaker cloth to create a grill you could then attach this to the feet.

Cheers

Ah, I see! Good idea, although I'd imagine they're removable anyway, aren't they, so resale value would be better if I had the feet if I ever wished to sell it in the future.

Good ideas though, both yours and Russ'. Cheers guys!
