Re: sub settings help

Hiya if you look at the top of this section of the forum you will see a sticky on how to setup a sub, give that a read as it has alot of really good info and links. If your still having problems after that or find some of the jargon a bit confussing im sure help will come.

Re: sub settings help

Of course you mean 80hz.
Lfe, 0db for more bass, -19bd will give you less bass, i would set it at 0db.

Re: sub settings help

i see, cheers mate,
another question i was reading that its not best to stick it straight infront of you, but my only other option is at the rear corner of the room inbetween two settees. So the front of it will be facing the underneaths of the settess(sp), is it worht just keeping it @ the front? or if its surrounded by things thats ok?

Re: sub settings help

Location of the sub is the most vital point of the subs setup, the only way to see if it works ok in the other location is to try it.
Have a look at the sticky at the top about setting up a subwoofer.

Re: sub settings help

Another thing is you need to know the roll off frequency (lowest frequency) your surround speakers will handle.

You should aim to have the crossover of the amp set 20 to 30hz above this to leave them with a cleaner crisper signal and directing the LF to the sub.

I have my KEF's set with the crossover at max on the sub, input level about 20/30% and crossover on the amp at 120hz as the surrounds on the KEF's can only handle 80hz LF.
