Re: Philips HTS9800W use another subwoofer ?

Just phoned up Philips and found out you cant. So thats no Philips for me then, just when I thought I might of found the perfect all in one system. But only to find out you cant upgrade the always snide subwoofers that come with these all in ones. I think I'am gona give up on all in ones, my last hope relies on Samsungs model which is quite similar in design for about the same price but its very doubtful.

Hi
So long as the all in one has an active subwoofer ie low level output from the amp/receiver it shouldnt be a problem.Passive sub systems are mostly the ones that you cant change the subs on.

Re: Philips HTS9800W use another subwoofer ?

HI Gonzo,

Thats the problem, I'am finding it difficult to find that sort of information out on the net without phoning Samsung up. My phone bill rocketing with all the phoning about I'am doing so my farther has said. I suspected the Philips wouldn't except a different subwoofer as the subwoofer it self controls some of the other components and powers everything, so you need it connected and powered on. As for the Samsung not sure yet still trying to find out.
