Velodyne SPL vs Martin Logan Grotto

I'm thinking of getting the Anthony Gallo ADiva Ti, and am looking for a sub now.
My budget is around $1000 give or take... so I've read GREAT reviews on the Velodyne spl800R, and the few reviews I found on Martin Logan Grotto are also great.
Unfortunately, the distributors here can only get and deliver the product, so I cannot demo them.
Can anybody give me a comparison, or some feedback on them.
My room is 15*30 and the listening are is about 15*15
50/50 music movies. I'm NOT looking to shake the walls , just a tight, and clear sounding bass.

Re: Velodyne SPL vs Martin Logan Grotto

The Martin Logan sub is a rarity in the UK and you may not find anyone on this forum that has heard one.

The Velodyne SPL800 has it's fans but to be honest you can do much better and if it's a compact sub that you're after the SVS SB12-Plus at $699 will take some beating
