very quick q about sub connection

just bought my first sub from RS, an MS308, it has left and right pre inputs, and my CA azur (like most amps?) has a single phono sub out, do i just connect from sub out to L or R in on sub, and leave the other one unused? is there a downside to this or should i use a normal dual phono from L and R pre outs and turn sub "off" on amp?

thanks, i realise this is a noob question to you sub folk, my experience so far is elsewhere on the AV field! can't wait to get it pumping!

Just using one input will be fine, I use the left.
