Siting a Strata 5

I'm just about to take delivery of a Strata 5 and have a couple of questions about siting.

My hifi (cyrus & marantz) is built into a large bookcase type thing I built last year. The bookcase includes large (like .5m high, .4.5m wide) draw units running all but 1m along the 6m of my lounge. The bookcase itself is 2.4m high. At each end of the bookcase i've a 1m space into the corners. The obvious start point for the 5 is in one of these gaps, but I was wondering whether these would be too enclosed.

Another thought I had was to extend the units right into the corners and put the 5 in one of the big drawer spaces.

Any opinions?

Do not put your subwoofer in an enclosed space, this is a very bad idea. Ideally it needs to be postioned along one of the side walls at a different distance from that of the other walls nearby
