Monolith Subwoofer from bk
I suppose that no-one has got one of these yet ,looks like its going to be a good one to take on the svs pb10-isd.It as very simular spec and size other than it as a larger woofer and a better choice of finishes.
Take a look HERE

Sweet!
I hadn't seen that but I'd love to get my hands on one! It does seem built and priced to take a big chunk out of the PB10 market but with plenty of potential improvements, a few that spring out having compared specs:
* Larger driver
* Thicker cabinet all-round
* High level and balanced inputs combined with a full set of controls
* Proper veneer
* AVF mug in sizing photo
The driver doesn't quite look like the larger version of the Peerless model used in the XLS200 so I'd be interested to find out what it is (I could be wrong after all). I'm a bit saddened to see that it's ported as I much prefer sealed sub models but clearly that would involve having a much larger amplifier module.
Who wants to buy me one so that I can compare it to dual XLS200's then?

Whoopee! Battle commences!
This is (hopefully) going to make some rather expensive subs look even more expensive.
Entirely British made too.
I'll repeat what has been said before: Fine veneers, 102dB @ 20Hz, 4" port x 12" driver x 300Watts Mosfet amp, high and low level connections & proper filtration all in a pretty box.
And dare I say it, all the bells and whistles that stopped me buying the PB10. Or even a stereo pair!
Good for BK! They deserve to do very well with this chap.
Now we need reviews. I have a feeling they won't be long in coming.

I've been staring intently at the driver pics on the site for a while now and have decided to change my mind - it does look like the Peerless XLS12! This is going to be one very impressive toy.

I love the fact that they are doing a "Cheery" veneer".

Jeez, there has been talk of a more powerful sub from BK for a while now, but to be honest I was doubting it'd ever arrive. This looks pretty awesome.

Hi eviljohn 2
I too have been looking at the driver. It does not look like my XLS12 as the basket is a different shape and the front cone is slightly different, but my driver is few years old and the design may have changed.
If it is a Peerless unit then I will buy one.

BK Monolith
http://www.bkelec.com/new/HiFi/Sub_Woofers/monolith.htm
Has anybody heard this beast??? Just saw it linked from this website. Is it not just a SVS PB-10 but with a larger driver? I was set on importing an SVS but this really does have some mouthwatering spec. If its anything like the XLS200 but with bigger output, I'm definately buying it!!!!

If you're looking for a sub of this spec, i'd say GO FOR IT! I have the XLS200 and am still amazed at the quality and value for money. Even though i've not heard this new BEAST, looking at the spec i'd say it's probably worth a hell of a lot more. A similar thing from the likes of SVS would be far more expensive. At £399 it seems an excellent bargain
