Servo 15.......WOW !!!

I'd just like to share this " DEEP " moment,with anyone who is looking for a used Servo 15,if you find one for sale,grab it with both hands & part with the cash !
Previously owning a SVS 25-31PCi ("my baby") & having to replace due to the wife saying it looked like a "dustbin",the search was on for another suitable sub!
After months of searching Ebay & the classifieds,I found & bought a secondhand Paradigm Servo 15 from an AV Forum member.
After waiting all weekend to set up due to having 2 small boy's & a wife who constantly watch tv,I finally got some time to myself & managed to set up this morning.
Now which dvd to try first ? I know.......Star Wars "Attack of the clones"
All I can say is ******* UNBELEIVABLE......The intro scene,when the spaceship fly's over,really took me by surprise,nearly pooed my pants ! Then,the first explosion........"MY GOD!",the whole room literally shook,plates in the sideboard could be heard rattling & pictures started dancing on the chimney surround........blimey!!!!!! I've since had to BluTack the pictures down!!!
The servo just seems capable of going lower & lower,with no distortion whatsoever.
It's making films so enjoyable to watch,as it adds so much depth & impact,throwing out notes which I didn't even know were there,in fact you don't actually hear the bass,but rather feel it,in your bones!!!!!!!!!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this sub to anyone who can attain one,as it really is something else!
Now the wife is happy & I have again,found a sub that puts a smile on my face!
Now I realise why there was so much hype about it when introduced by RS in this country!!!!!
Anyway I'll stop boring you all now (you've probably heard this all before ),I just had to tell the world, what a beast of a sub this is !

I have a friend looking for a sub bass to replace his Yamaha ysw-150! The sub which I have told him can’t handle the lows down at 20Hz and 40Hz on films like the Matrix and the day after tomorrow, at these high SPL levels.

I keep trying to tell him you really need a bigger one, to handle the demands of motion picture soundtracks, it may be fine on music which is around the 50 to 60Hz peaks for dram and bass and motion picture soundtracks are a totally different ball game altogether have to be as realistic sounding using all the full range spectrum by the sound mixers to an artist way.

So I tell him about the Servo 15, and to keep an eye out for it on the Ebay site…
…I’ll also be helping to try and find it as well.

Sound's like the Servo 15 may be on a par with my JBL 4645!

As sub bass in my home cinema I use the JBL 4645 hence my users name, and it’s all so a very popular THX cinema sub bass, that I have felt plenty, of times at the UCI Empire Leicester square screen #1 when she used to be THX certified until the late 1998, pity…

My JBL 4645 sub bass…she is loud she is a mean sounding sub of a bitch…


She can take it she is the real McCoy THX approved and 600watts of slam kick ramble and depth too, and she goes down deep. 120dbc max but I like film and music at 115dbc on the JBL…

Certainly. My ears took a punishing at this drum + bass gig- I'd like to have known the SPL levels. 14 scoop bins 2 W's, funktion-one mids+highs + a tennis-court sized dance floor. Hmm. They were handing out ear plugs but I didn't wear any. it took a week for my hearing to "recover" I reckon a few nights of this would have seen it off entirely!

I feel no desire nor necessity to even consider upgrading from my pair of Servo 15s . Well, perhaps I may try a Velodyne Digital add on thingy when they eventually come out .

Chips is that the Velodyne digital thingy that's basically the room EQ bit from the DD series? Is their any news yet when it’s going to be released over here? Looks a great bit of kit for the money.
