amp Yamaha AX2
any feedback would be greatly appreciated...and is this the cheapest you can find the MJ acoustic sub?

I don't think you'll get the sub itself any cheaper, but you may be able to get a cable thrown in. I've got one, and am very pleased indeed with it, but can't make any comparison with your current Tannoy sub.

Hi engaged
thanks for the feedback
could I ask what type of speakers do you use and what size is your room.
my room is approx 4 metres by 3 metres
is this your first sub or how does it compare with other subs you have had?
thanks

System is listed at the bottom of each post I make! Speakers are Monitor Audio Radius R90's, and it is the first sub I've ever bought. Living room is about 8 x 4m, and the AV kit is in one half of the room. Never a problem with the system filling the room. Or indeed the whole house...

swartzy,
I upgraded from a single Mordaunt Short MS20SW to 2x MJ Ref 100's and I'm very happy with the performance I get out of them.
I run them both on the LFE channel and one on the high level input from the front mains speakers and the other on the high level input from the centre channel.
I find them extremely good in movie mode and very good in music mode.
The price you've got is also very good (I paid £570 for both of mine at the Practical Hifi show in Manchester last year on a promo offer). I could not find many other deals at the time apart from £10-£20 off RRP.
They are also very easy to set up / blend in with a system.
Regards,
Chris

sorry engaged
was not aware of your speakers but I guess if the sub is filling the room almost twice the size of mine it may be a good sign.....how does the sub compare with music and movies? Are there any reviews on this sub that you know of?

Swartzy,
It would be interesting to here from you on your opinion on the Ref100 in comparison to the Tannoy MX10.
I'm using a MX10 with Tannoy sixes range speakers on the front (609I,623) and find that it performs well.

Hi Mudan
When I decide to get one of these I will definitely give you some feedback...would like to see a few reviews on it in home cinema mags too...not sure if there is a dealer to hear one in action in Northern Ireland?
thanks
