Sub recommendation for HK AV Receiver - BK XLS 200 / 300 or something else??

I have the follwing kit installed currently:

Harman Kardon DPR-1005 Receiver
Infinity Oreus 7.1 Speakers
Sony V40 Bravia
Panasonic DMREZ45V DVD Recorder + VCR Combi
Sky Hi Def box
X-Box 360
Logitech Harmony 885

I know this kit isn't new, but it has worked well for me over the past couple of years.

The problem is the Infinity Oreus Sub has given up completely I think. I have spent a long few hours tonight on the forum looking for sub recommendations. A small footprint and not being too tall or imposing on a 12x14ft room are important factors, and I want to spend around £350. I have so far ended up at the BK XLS 200 or 300.
Does anyone have any thoughts for or against them given the rest of my kit?, or any other suggestions please?

Cheers
kf

Re: Sub recommendation for HK AV Receiver - BK XLS 200 / 300 or something else??

If there are no obvious alternatives, then can someone advise if the BK sub is appropriate to use with my setup? I'm relatively new to this so any help would be much appreciated.

TIA

Re: Sub recommendation for HK AV Receiver - BK XLS 200 / 300 or something else??

Either would work very nicely with the Oreus as the XLS-10 driver used by both is capable of producing clean bass up to the 95Hz the Oreus satellites require.

There's not much else at, or near the price of those two worthy of comparison unless you are looking second hand.

For my money, I would lean toward the XLS-300 and it's greater bottom end clout, but both will work happily in a room that size.

Many thanks Russell, just the sort of confidence I was looking for. Cheers, Fraser
