Just about to order my Monolith

Do I need to be concerned about a stereo or Mono rca plate? I have never connected with more than a single cable.. Is it just personal preference or there a technical basis for connecting with a Y splitter? Many thanks!

The Monolith comes with stereo inputs and you use just one of them if you have a dedicated subwoofer out on your amp. BK give you the option of having a stereo or mono lead in the accessory pack, there is only one design of amp plate. You only need the mono lead but some people go for the twin one anyway even if they only use half of it. (if you have a hifi amp with stereo pre-outs is when the stereo lead and both inputs would be used).

Cool! I've had an email to say it takes three weeks to produce due to the spraying for the gloss black. Its going to go with my B&W M1s. Good things is they don't take the money until it ships. Been sizing it up, its replacing a Tannoy Revolution R15 Sub so probably not much difference in size, I'm going to check the dimensions of the Tannoy. I think the Monolith is taller! The missus will have lamp on there in no time..

Just checked the dimensions..

Tannoy R15 505D 520H 475W
Monolith 420D 604H 540W

and the Tannoy was a 15" Sub and was huge!

"honest luv, it'll fit in there no problem....."

I haven't wired up the M1s yet, the Tannoy was running with B&W 602s, CC6and Monitor Audio Bronze rears and it performed well. It sounded better when I moved from my Sony amp the to the Denon AVC-A1SR, much more controlled.

I've also got the PV1, don't know what you think? but I preferred the Tannoy for movies by some margin, the Tannoy just goes deeper. The PV1 is quick but its no beast. Really looking forward to hearing what all the fuss is about with the Monolith!

I'm getting rid of the Tannoy because I think the Monolith will walk all over it, even with the marginally smaller woofer that it has. While I was happy with the Tannoy, I think as 15" Subs go, it could have been more powerful. You could make it flap with some movie moments and it didn't have enough slam.

I also need to get two more M1s, only got three at the moment.
