Subwoofer Upgrade!

Hi there guys, im new to this site so first let me say hi!

I currently own a B&W 608 Sub, which is currently at B&W being fixed. Since it has broke and let me down after hardly any punishment at all ive been looking for a subwoofer upgrade. I bought the ASW when i only had my VM1`s but since ive bought my Mezzo 6`s its hardly noticeable. So ive been thinking about getting something with a little more OOOMph! The sub that has caught my eye is the BK Monolith-DF. I only have around £400 for an upgrade not alot for a sub i know but thats what i have.

So what im asking is do you think the Monolith will make an improvement over the ASW 608? It will be mainly used for films seeing as the Mezzo`s are so capable with music, or should i just keep the 608? As im hoping it will come back from B&W like brand new i could just sell it and add it to the funds of a sub.

What you think?

Thanks
Gareth

Re: Subwoofer Upgrade!

hi gaz

im on the verge of ordering a monolith df

iv read all the reviews for this sub and as far as i can see it will do the job i require and then some

apparently it will shake a room big time

only gripe i have is the size as i only have a small room but iv spoke to my missus and we have decided that it can be disquised as a corner table

i have a pv1 at the mo and the lack of bottom end is doin' my head in, im missing out (i dont like missing out)
so im gonna get a mono i think, for the price i doubt there is anything to touch it

Re: Subwoofer Upgrade!

Hey Mark,

Im the same mate i dont have too much room, but im a tech head so i will find somewhere to put it. Like you ive read a few reviews on the monolith too, by the sounds of it i think you could shove it in another room and it will still make a difference.
