Hi

I’m thinking about upgrading my MS309w to either the forum favourite XLS200 or the B&W ASW610 and was wondering which would be the best for me?

I can get them at around the same price so I need some help or even suggestions on a better sub!

I have my sub connected to a Yamaha amp with a pair of Tannoy F4’s – it’s used for music, TV and sometimes movies

I want it to be good with music but to drop lower and hit harder than my 309w too

The 309 is a good little sub, I don't think the two subs you have mentioned will be a considerable upgrade. I think you need to be looking a little higher up the range to get a good improvement.

I am in the same position as i would like to upgrade from my 309 as it has a mains hum problem.

I only have a small room (garage conversion) but was wondering about a BK sub but which one?

The 309 was always considered to be firing up "near" XLS200 territory by those who have compared it with BK subs directly, so if you want to replace it you won't go far wrong with an XLS200, if you want to significantly improve upon it then you need to go higher up the range. I am passing on information as I have never heard a 309 myself.

I called BK and they said that the XLS200 was only a slight upgrade and a real upgrade would be the 400

I’m confused now
