Question Pulsating interference on Oreus sub

Got an Oreus Infinity speaker system which is about 5 years old. The power sub has just developed a fault whereby it pulsates interference. The interference is sporadic but when it does happen it's quite regular in frequency.

It doesn't seem to be related to the amp as unplugging the sub cable doesn't have an effect on the interference.

Any ideas?

Re: Pulsating interference on Oreus sub

Can you describe the interference in a bit more detail?

Thanks,

Dave

Seeing as it's the sub, there isn't much to it, it's just sort of static sound but in a lower pitch than you would get in a normal speaker. Higher pitch than the normal sub rumbling tho. Lasts for 1 second then reoccurs say 30secs later.

Can you move it into a different room and plug it in there to see if it is some sort of mains/radio interference. You could have something packing up elsewhere that is causing mains interference, although I admit, it's a bit of a long shot.
