In the interests of fair play I'd like to establish just how many amp panels have failed, every time a certain manufacturer says don't believe what you read on AVF, that's just a disgruntled few making a fuss.

You know who you are, the couple of you that had an amp panel from a certain manufacturer fail. I'm going to make a list, it should only take a few minutes if the manufacturer is to believed

I could back track through the forum and record exactly how many have.

I already make it getting on for half a dozen or so since the beginning of the month.

But I can't include the 50 or so mended on an ebay site over a period of 4 months before the manufacturer asked him to stop earlier in the year

So please post in the thread if yours broke this year and you didn't get it mended through Ebay. This will give us an idea of reported broken one's this year. Reports have been coming in for several years but I thought I'd start here and work back.

I have a Kef PSW 2010 failed amp. It was about 2 years old at the time and went about 18 months ago. Not the time scale you wanted I know, but there you go. I never really tried to fix it yet.

Yep mine failed a couple of days ago, fixed it myself for 40 pennies!

Plate amp failed on my Creative Labs Gigaworks S750.

Wouldn't power on as kept melting fuses

I had a Kef PSW 2010 amp panel fail which thankfully was just inside the warrenty period

Oh, and my SVS once had a screw loose (Or was that SWMBO

Apologies, I'm not sure how you know the amp panel has failed, I haven't got a clue about these things, but I had to send the amp board of my KEF egg sub back twice for repair and I have now sent an entire MS309 off to Richer sounds for repair with what sounds like a faulty amp panel as it is making the same noise the KEf used to when it broke.

Time wise though, the MS309 is 3 years old with the kef being about 2 years old when it first broke.

Mordaunt Short MS309 subwoofer, bought Nov 08 and went to lunch March 09.
In for repairs under warranty, had it back 3 weeks, same again. Got a refund from dealer as I would not buy MS again. Now a BK man!

now you mention it, i remember that i had to have my KEF sub repaired, power supply on the back panel, 50 quid too

I've read a lot of Kef users with the amp panel failing. Not good at all. Not a fan of Kef. I did have a 5 full size speaker kit from them in. Build quality was not good unlike my Monitor Audios.
