[sammy the squid]

i know the old adage, something is only worth as much as you want to pay for it, but im unsure with this sub. Thanks to a fellow member (thankyou jock itch) im going to see an mk mx 5000mk 2 tomorrw.

Its 6 years old and apparently in very good condition. I know this sub had custom made sanyo drivers which are no longer available, but im cautious that at 6years old, the asking price, almost a grand, is potentially abit steep for a sub of this age?

Anybody who could give me any info in relation to this sub, is it good/bad, would be appreciated. Ive had a bit of a read up and it appears this model was superceeded by the mx 5100sf. Price isnt so much the issue as much as the amp popping its clogs or the drivers getting tears, from what ive read.

Anybody got this sub or have any more info? Any input greatly appreciated

Sammy - the MX5000MKII is an excellent sub and very highly regarded, as long as the drive units and cosmetics are good on the sub it could turn out to be a good buy, also make sure you get to listen to it making sure that the amp is in full working condition...it is also the perfect partner to the S150's

Thanks for the input. I'll only beable to see one of the driver faces so i'll have a good listen to it. 6 years is quite old though. You have a pm John,

6 years is fine, my rel storm is about 10 years old and had no problems what so ever.
