Balanced XLR or RCA?

Hi all

I have set up my Monolith with my SMS-1 but am just wondering what is better to use, the RCA cable or the Balanced XLR? currently I have RCA from the amp to the SMS-1, then XLR from the SMS-1 to the beast.

Just wondering what I will benefit or loose if I go RCA to the beast from the SMS-1?

do you have xlr connections in the rest of your electronics chain?

the full benefit of xlr is derived if you have xlr thruout.

No, only from the SMS-1 to the Monolith,

I doubt many home cinema AVRs and blu ray players have XLR connections
