Great post binbag. Though I'm not sure I'd want to share a room wih an 18" deep trench.

Sonically or because it could be somebodies grave? Actually the one thing I didn't mention was the improvement to clarity in the midrange. I can only assume that it is because the bass is lower and much, much tighter that it's now not getting in the way of the other sounds. Whatever the reason there is certainly more detail and I am hearing things that I didn't notice before.

I suspect that having it in such a deep trench like that will have a significant and positive effect on the room modes that are induced.

What about filling the trench with subwoofers to act as stepping stones? Could cut down on spilt tea? Well it's a plan....

Surely a better plan would be to use it as an infinite baffle type design.

Before y'all get your spades out I'd like to point out that there is a floor over trench upon which sits the sub.

Look, can we move on from the whole trench thing - the only reason I kept it is so I'd have somewhere warm to dance when her mum dies.

Could anyone tell me if they think an upgrade from a rel q100 to the BK would be worthwhile, i like the smaller enclosure but don't want to lose any bass. Thanks in advance guys

also interested in this ?

Have a Rel Quake, Rel Q100E and the sub that comes with the Kef 200.5 speakers

Really DONT want to be spending £300 on another sub but just had to ask now that I have been pointed this way

Woudl be used with B&W 603s2s as my main left and right speakers

You could always sell your other subs to get the dosh. Thats what i'm doing at the mo with my Quake, i'm getting the xls200 as ive been advised it should delve alot deeper with less distortion.
