album art and FLACs

Hi

I've been ripping my cd's to FLAC over the last few days using EAC. I wanted to embed album art into the FALC so yesterday I used MP3tag, which was ok, but it seemed to take a long time. So today I downloaded Media Monkey which I found much more user friendly and took seconds to add the album art to the FLACs.

My query is. I've ripped some CD's using EAC then used Media monkey to add the album art, which it seems to have done successfully, but if I open MP3tag and look at the corresponding files in that program there doesn't seem to be any album art embedded in the files. Is this normal?

Re: album art and FLACs

Which version of MediaMonkey did you download; the standard version (2.5.5.8) or the beta of version 3?
The 2.5.5.8 adds album art by associating the tracks with the specigied immage, and creating a MediaMonkey-specific tag. Apparently version 3 will have the ability to embed the image within each track which I would imagine make it compatible across different players. Personally I prefer the current method as it keeps the tracks a little smaller as I only use MediaMonkey on my PC, and when I finally get round to ordering a Sonos this method is the one to use.
