Recommendation required
Hi I am looking to buy an mp3 player to load all my cds onto that i can connect to my amp when i want to listen to music.
Chances are that i will never take the mp3 player out of the cinema room so looks are not important.
What would you recommend?
Adrenochrome.

An old computer would probably be the easiest option. Or there's the Cambridge Audio music server (or Cyrus etc). That's if it genuinely won't be leaving the room so you can have it plugged in nicely.

If you have cabling / wireless LAN extending to your home cinema room and can keep your music in your PC (and it switched on), then there are other options.
There's the Roku Photobridge which should work well in a home cinema room. If a smallish display is not an issue, try the Slim Devices Squeezebox. There's rumoured to be a new Sonos system to be available in the new year with the same great remote and no amp (i.e. use your own).
Unless it's a very old computer with passive or minimal-fan cooling, I wouldn't recommend re-using an older PC as they can get noisy. I would recommend as an option putting together a new silent PC, but the cost of doing that will outspend the above options.

4G or 5G - 4G doesn't need to be colour either. As it'll hardly be used as per it's original design purpose, then battery life is irrelevant since it'll be plugged into the mins the whole time.
The Dock provides line level out rather than using the headphone output.
There's even remote units from Griffin Technology, among others, which will let you flick tracks, as well as play/pause.
