Media player, mostly for music

Hi,

Looking for some recommendations for a media player please. I bought the WD Elements Play 2TB, but it is unable to play back live/mixed audio without gaps, and it would seem that WD have no intention of fixing this, so back it goes! Shame really, as it ticks most of the boxes.

HDMI is preferable, as are analog outputs, although at a push, I could grab a DAC too. Built in hard drive, or the ability to read from and external usb 2 or usb 3 drive is a requirement.

This will be mostly used for music in wav/flac and MP3 form and will be feeding an AS500 amp with Q Acoustics 2050 speakers.

Anything available for £150 ish? (that would have to include a hard drive too).

Cheers!

Try the Acer Revo RL70. Its slightly over you budget but once setup with XBMC its a fully fledged HTPC. Works a treat!

EDIT: Went up about £10 since I bought it last week but still worth it...

If you don't have a copy of windows 7 and Linux isnt your thing you can grab a copy of windows 8 release preview which is free to use until janurary!

IMO windows 8 works better on a HTPC anyway, thanks to the metro UI.

Olive 3 HD is the only unit I can think of which has HDMI and build in HD.

I use a Acer Revo 3600 with external 3Tb disk as a media player, it has HDMI and S/PDIF output

Popcorn Hour A210 Media Player plays Gapless music. I copied 2 of my Remastered Pink Floyd albums the other day into WAV files & they both played perfectly
