Issue with squeezebox iPhone app

Hi,
I use Logitech's own iPhone app on my iPhone 3GS as my main controller.
I've used it with my system for ages without any problem.

But recently, it asks me to sign into my mysqueezebox account every time I open the app. Well not quite every time I open it - if I've had it open recently then it's ok.
Access via my Duet controller is fine.

I have a couple of Duet receivers, and my library is on a QNAP TS-210.

Any ideas what's happened?

Have you checked that you haven't set mysqueezebox up as a player. You will need to log into mysqueezebox.com and remove it as a player. Quite a few complaints about this on the itunes review pages.

I use iPeng and it works really well and is worth the £6.99. Use it on my ipod touch and have no problems with it.

I don't think I have.
I just logged into the mysqueezebox website and went to players. In there I see four things: Conservatory, Controller, Laptop (squeezeplay), and Lounge. They are all devices I know about.

Looking on the list, all four things say Status: Not Connected. Is that normal because I'm not browsing from my local network? Wouldn't have thought so.

TBH I would go the iPeng route and save yourself any more hassle. £6.99 v time. Also if you pay an extra £2.99 you can download an extra app to use the iphone as a player as well so it becomes another streaming device which can be useful.

The squeeze forums seem to rate iPeng as a much better solution than Logitech's app.

Yeah, I've long considered it.
I've spent loads of money on my home audio systems - £thousands. Yet for some reason I have a problem with paying £7 for a handy little app! Really need to get my head around this

(I've never paid money for any app actually. Had plenty of free ones that frustrate me with their various problems though!)

I also uninstalled the custom browse plugin (which I found really useful) when it stopped being free. I'm strongly considering getting that back again though.

If anybody else comes up against this bug, I finally have a solution...

Uninstall and re-install the iPhone app. Simples!

I got this advice through the Logitech forums last night, and it seems ok now. The iPeng author very nobly offered this advice, which has ultimately done him out of an iPeng sale. Jolly helpful chap. For that, I'm half tempted to download it now even though I don't need it

But you do need iPeng - why - because it is so much better. You have ended up with a low quality working app rather than a high quality working app. Just my twopenneth

Now that's fixed, I really have no issues with it. It controls my stuff reliably and responsively. What's low-quality about that? I don't need the feature that turns the iPhone into a player.

I have used both and would not go back to the Logitech version - the user ratings back that up. Confused by your comment on the Logitech app being reliable as you started this post because it was not working correctly. Like so many of these things it is a bit like driving a Volkswagen - great car does the job and then you try a Mercedes.

I meant that it's always been fine except for the one annoyance. And now that issue is fixed.
But yes, I'm sure I would find plenty I prefer about iPeng if I tried it.
